Hawt Dawg Awooooo!
We're looking for experienced salvagers, prospectors and adventurous people in general for a job in C-Space. If you know any people who are experts in ancient artifacts, that's a definite plus.

Armaments are recommended, the job takes place in a cluster not known for its stability.

Payment will be made mostly in valuable, easily tradeable goods. (We're short on creds but ask us about our gold or iridium stocks!)

Contact me for further details.

This is the job I was advertising for in virtual lounge. Jack of All Trades is participating at least, but I'm looking for more!

I'm curious. I specialize in relic recovery and archaeological digs in unusual places. However I have to ask, what exactly are you looking for and what will you do with what you find?

I have come across some very promising leads for historical artifacts, though given the age of the site, I'd be pleased if we found anything remotely intact. What I would do with them? See if anyone wants to purchase them or if they're for some odd reason hold ancient and forgotten wisdom that is still valid today, put them to use.

Apologies for using vague language. I'd rather not tip off others to my catch. As I said, further details can be discussed in private correspondence.

Alright, shoot me a message with the details. May as well make sure you've got an archaeologist alongside whatever treasure hunters you happen to hire.

Or you could follow the law and report them to the proper historical authorities, who would then ensure that the sites are treated with respect to whatever culture you are intending to exploit for your own greed.

I highly suggest you consider the option.

And I must wonder about your credentials, Mr. Rahkana, to have not suggested such prior to this.

May you never forget what is worth remembering, nor ever remember what is best forgotten.

Triskele, I will admit my curiosity to learn more overshadowed my good judgement in my initial inquiry. However some artifacts have little red tape attached to them. My current expedition to a dead pre-mass effect world, for example, just required a prospecting permit.
THAT BEING SAID!
I have now found the nature of Mr. Dawg's proposed dig site, I strongly suggest he first contact Historical Authorities with the nature of his find, secondly give word of it to Citadel law enforcement, and third find a good lawyer.

Mr./Ms./Mrs./Person of notable disposition Triskele, I have few questions for you in return.

What is the average time between a report made to the Historical Authorities and them sending an expedition to the target site?

On whose jurisdiction do historical artifacts fall when the civilization in question has no central authority or corresponding ministry to handle ancient relics?

How willing would the authorities be to recover possible (note, this is not confirmed find) artifacts from very hazardous conditions, where lives of the expedition and integrity of the finds are in peril?

While you are mulling over these questions, I'll be doing this job in days or weeks while it would take months or years by government authorities even approve, never mind act upon, and exchange what I have found with interested parties for appropriate compensation for the work and risks I've taken.

Question 1: It depends on multiple variables, not least including urgency.

Question 2: You have made mention that the sites in question are in Citadel space, which would make the authorities in question be located on the Citadel. If they are contemporary, you may be required to speak to a representative from the historical societies in question, the list of which can be found here.

Question 3:This question alone betrays your ignorance of modern archaeological procedure.

And I will be presuming you are little more than a looter, a crime punishable in most of the civilised galaxy, particularly in the case of historical sites.. Do not assume the extranet makes you anonymous when breaking a law.

May you never forget what is worth remembering, nor ever remember what is best forgotten.
