Reckoning's lineup for new characters include Not-EDI infiltration unit, A LEVIATHAN-CONTROLLED COLLECTOR, Warhammer-wielding krogan warlord, not-Nyreen cabalist, Geth Juggernaut and not-Zaeed Talon Merc.

Geth Juggernaut has shield-leeching heavy melee and is immune to sync phantom/atlas/banshee/brute grabs.

Talon Merc utilizes an omni-bow and tripmines, pretty much Zaeed with hockey mask modelwise.

Cabalist uses poison blades to bypass shields for damage over time and another attack to paralyze unshielded enemies. Also Shield regeneration and invulnerability power!

EDI-bot gets repair health/shields power if I heard right.

Who's that thing between the collector and the krogan? Or is that just the hammer?

Ok... Well thats one way to do a final DLC. That's got to make some awkward shuttle rides between missions. What with Eldritch Abomination wearing one of their more formidable enemies as a suit.

Nope.

Resurrected Protheans.

description blurbWhen the Reaper-killer known as Leviathan fought the Collectors, it severed their connection to Harbringer with a thrall device. Most Collector forces died as a result, but a few survived. Now, these rare individuals fight for the memory of their people, a proud race broken by the Reapers. Protheans appointed avatars to embody and model a single virtue for their society. The Awakened Collectors' virtue is vengeance.

Impressions of Citadel:

The main plot is bad. Bad bad bad bad bad bad horribad terrible. Every part of the plot felt forced and contrived (Brooks' performance as a double agent is worse than Liara's is as a "Shadow Broker"), and the clone thing was so utterly, horribly, messily handled that it made me wince every time he came up. Character interaction (particularly with Wrex) was so awful that on the second half of the DLC I stopped using him in my party.

The only good parts of the main plot were the deploying (sorry) of Smooth Jazz, un-ironically taking the mickey out of the end of Deception (i.e. with the toothbrush), and fighting the end boss (one, because if you played a vanguard, you have the chance to play ZOOM TAG again, and two, Shepard remarks that Conrad Verner makes a better Shepard than your clone).

So the plot of Citadel? Just plain awful.

So why would I suggest you get it anyway? Because it is jam-packed with easter eggs that will make you laugh like hell. There are references to the official CDN articles everywhere, including some of the characters themselves. Rolan Quarn, for example, shows up as a quick dialogue exchange, as does The Consort. Characters from ME2 show up, this time with more characterization packed into two minutes of dialogue than in their entire ME3 missions. Grunt and Samara (so far) stand out amongst them. And if that doesn't strike your fancy, there is always the arcade, which features what amounts to a SP version of multiplayer - only this time featuring all your old squadmates.

And there are visual easter eggs all over the place. For example?

This.

So yes. Citadel as a plotline is hilarious in how awful it is, but everything after it is fantastic. If you had to pick one DLC pack (aside from Javik's), this is the one I'd pick. Suffer through the plot, enjoy one last good boss fight, and run around one last time with the rest of the squad.

I recommend Citadel if only for the character bonding you'll get out of it. The plotline is, as Spiza said, blarg.

But god damnit I loved every corny minute of it.

Eh, didn't bother me. In fact, I found the whole thing refreshingly different. ME3 and its DLC's usually hit a pretty grim note, what with all the doom and gloom, even if you win. Both the main plot and all the fun with our squadmates hits a more optimistic tone that had me smiling throughout.

Good sendoff.

Let me clear something up with my review. Once the hideous plot elements are out of the way, the DLC (and banter) gets GREAT. The final battle, as a vanguard, for example?

In case people are still getting mixed messages about my initial post, buy this DLC. Despite what I think about the actual plot, the extra fluff, party and general scenery-chewing is well worth the entrance fee. The final scene in particular is a touching send-off for the characters in the game, and there is finally, finally a sense of closure to the Mass Effect Trilogy.

I think I missed my grunt interactions (grunt and co. climbing on the krogan monument on presidium). Do you need to kill the rachni queen to get it?
