Alright then, might as well do this now, first thing, with the new forums and everything. There's been something on my mind as of late, and I'm finally going to say it. I'm sure that a lot of other people feel the same way, and if they want to chime in, well, they are free to.
Thank you. We'd like to thank Bioware for giving us this big fantastic playground that we call our home away from home, filled with interesting, unique characters and storylines that we have been able to work with. We'd like to thank the original CDN updaters for filling this universe in article by article. We'd like to thank our current moderator team. Since they're all actually here, let's do this. Thank you Harrad_01 Thank you KorwunGorik Thank you The_Sarcastic_Salarian Thank you SteelUnifier Thank you Zoftan Thank you ESpiza. You six have been tough but fair when it came to herding these forumites. You've kept this forum fun and on track, rooting out the bad weeds and helping us along the way to better storytelling. You do this out of the kindness of your hearts, and we cannot thank you enough for that. A thank you to Diplomatic_Immunity, for his coding of the new site. It couldn't have been easy to do this, and I'm sure that this new site will be even better than the old one. You're also fighting against the evil twins of alt confusion and alt anonymity, so kudos to that. A thank you to our RetroSpectres, who plotted the course the galaxy shall take after the reaper war. So, let's do this. Jeral the Improbable, thank you for uniting everyone in hatred and suspicion for those fucking frogs. (We're kidding, we're kidding...) Kyrman201, thank you for cementing Elcor awesomeness. Asari_Promiscuity, thank you for returning beauty and grace to Thessia. Also, thank you for giving faces to roughly 85% of the boards active population. Havocfett and Kolhammer, the pair of you have made the krogan even more awesome. Now for jousting matches. Niamh, J_Proctor and Diplomatic_Immunity, we apologize for you having to deal with the most boring race in this galaxy. But you performed magnificently, and ensured things would stay interesting. SkyEye, thank you for introducing more controversy into the compact. :D PY, Sicaria and LadyJo, we thank you for upholding the pride of the Hierarchy in these dark and troubled times. Now to bone for the cause. Abad, thank you for taking on any alien that has either too many eyes or too few IQ points. We don't thank you, however, for introducing Yahg to the galaxy, considering how the last one turned out. Think of the children, man! Davril, thank you for that intense financial action that was the Volus retro. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Good on you. Kittens, for taking on not only the geth, but the quarians, and helping to expand Rannoch for both of them, thank you. Haseri, this one will thank you for giving us the First Church of Shepard. Now then, it's Tuesday, so my god commands I punch a tabloid reporter. Thanks to Twisted Logic for giving us an answer to the question "What ever did happen to the Raloi?" Thanks to the original Roleplayers who got this forum started, the ones who were there at the beginning. We wouldn't be here without them. Thanks to you, other roleplayers, for making this the best mass effect role playing forum on the internet. A forum like this isn't measured in reaper wars or mind control fungus. It's measured in day to day interactions that show how large our universe really is. It's a rich, diverse experience that we have here. Sincerely, Lupine Volt You guys are all beyond awesome. Thank you for making this a fun place to be, thank you for all the work you've put in, and thank you for being great friends. -Mr_Sandman Kari Serpentis [Redacted] Vohkaidin Muckracker Thanks for creating and maintaining the amazing place that is CDN. -Dekutulla WildFlower I just got one thing to say: Keep on being awesome guys, and thanks for putting up with all of us these past few months. Thanks to all of you for the frankly insane amount of effort you've been putting in. My only worry is that once the new forum's unveiled, the universe will explode due to awesomeness overload; still, that'd be a good way to go :P - EmileOB You guys have been awesome, thanks a ton! - Migrant This site has been a fantastic way to spend time and associate with people I've come to call good friends of mine. I hope it stays that way. HEIL DER MODZ - DepressedBatarian Kia Kaha ~ SolAzure Thank you for weaning me off Halo franchise, now to ponder what will do it for me on Mass Effect's part! -hammers-sickles I followed intently the CDN news for years now. I was blown away by how lifelike it was, as if a window to the Mass Effect universe. I only took so long to join because I was shy frankly. CDN is the best online RP I've ever seen, it makes the Mass Effect universe better by existing, and you made it happen. So yeah, thank you!- FourEyesFourtheWin Thanks again, -Asharia Thank you for giving us Mass Effect fans a good place to communicate, RP, and simply just gather (without going to the BioWare forums). Try not to let all the power go to your heads just yet ~Hybrid Four more years! (That's all I could think of) -Security_Infiltraitor/Kaitlyn/Kelsey To everyone who has contributed to the truly awesome place that Cerberus Daily News has become, I'd sincerely like to say how much I appreciate all the effort and love has been put into this community! You guys have all been extremely awesome throughout the years that CDN has existed and we are all most certain that you will continue to be awesome after this new beginning! Again thank you all very very for everything! Love you all guys! Don't loose a single drop of that awesomeness flowing in you! :D -Telos <3 you're all overrated. especially harrad and steelie - CD <3 |

![]() ![]() ![]() Dominance To reign from obscurity has long since ceased to be entertaining. |
Sorry for not making the initial remarks of gratitude, I'm kind of in an in transition process right now. But yeah, what Lupe said. Especially to the Mods. Thanks for putting up with me and people like me for as long as you have.

Aw looks like mine didn't get on there in time to get posted. But thanks to everyone who helped, and is still doing their part to help make CDN so amazing. Y'all are awesome.

This is immensely touching, but you guys forgot to thank the most important people - yourselves!
Because I'm a massive nerd when it comes to more things than just CDN, I'm going to throw out V. Gordon Childe's list of things that constitute a civilization. Large urban centers Full-time specialist occupations Primary producers of food paying surpluses to deity or ruler Monumental architecture Ruling class exempt from manual labor System for recording information Development of exact, practical sciences Monumental art Regular importation of raw materials Interdependence of classes (peasants, craftspeople, rulers) State religion/ideology Persistent state structures There's a theme here, and that theme is that you can't have a civilization without people. Every single item on the list requires a certain critical mass of people, and this isn't just true of civilizations - it's true of communities in general. Much as I love the mods and the other retrospective writers, without a community to contribute to none of us would have done half the things we did, and the community consists of you guys (and girls, obviously). I know I probably spend more than my fair share of time complaining about the community, but the truth is that without you there's no CDN and CDN is something I enjoy immensely, whether it always seems that way or not. I've reached that point where if I keep writing I'm going to write far too much, so I'm going to stop now. In short, thank you all for being here and being yourselves. I look forward to CDN's bright future, and it's a future we wouldn't have without each of you. |

Thank you Lupine and others for thinking of me. <3 And thank YOU everyone else because without a community this would be a damn boring place to be.
Sorry my links borked and I didn't see that the new site went up last night. Wish I could have been there but from all the nonsense already posted it looks like it was all of you being your usual selves. :D Never change, guys. You know, I was going to say something poetic and sweet about how we couldn't have done it without you guys, and how there'd be no board without the people on it, and that's what makes CDN awesome. But Abad said it fifty bazillion times better than I ever could, and beat me to the punch, so....what he said :p May you never forget what is worth remembering, nor ever remember what is best forgotten. |
