AEGIS recruitment (now closed)

So AEGIS has come through the Reaper War with a grand total of 3 player characters and not many more background characters.

There's always been a healthy interest in the group, so I'm opening up for new applicants. You can apply with either an existing character or create a new character entirely. If you're interested in joining AEGIS, please post here, drop me a PM via the old forums or email me at info (at squiggle) servantsoftheimperium.com with details of the character.

I don't want to inundate the unit with new one-use-then-forgotten characters, so there will be a selection process going on. Hopefully I won't offend anyone who doesn't get picked.

AEGIS can offer storylines for the more martial-minded characters, as well as having a chance to play as near as you can get to 'moral mercs' on CDN.

Short Backstory: Served as an Asari Commando earlier in her life before turning to freelance mercenary work prior to the Reaper War. Reenlisted in the Commandos shortly after the war began through an outreach program dedicated to enlisting veteran soldiers from mercenary groups.

So I had trouble finding something to do with this character post time skip, so I decided to leave her uncreated on the new forum, and I think I found the perfect place with Aegis. Some of the earlier writing of the character isn't well done, but I'd say it's improved much over time.

I'm interested. Brand new character so not much in the way of background, I'm still building that.

Character Name: Yossin Rikuri (public, assumed identity)

Race: Batarian

Background: A high caste batarian using his resources to help rebuild after the Reaper War, a man who had an epiphany about slavery when he saw how all castes fell before the Reapers, a noble nobleman...except he's not. He's Yossin's trusted slave, who took advantage of his master's indoctrination (and presumed death) to steal his identity and wealth. Smart and business oriented, he trades on Yossin's connections while avoiding people who would know him personally.

He would be most useful for those social and business connections. He's no brawler, but he can get it for you wholesale.

Name: Karina Nasica

Age: 19

Background: Karina is an orphan from Omega adopted at a young age by a turian bartender. Her 'mother' encouraged her to learn a useful skill beyond combat (though needless to say she was taught how to defend herself) and she got an apprenticeship with a krogan ship mechanic at age 9. Since then her life was more or less unremarkable up until the invasion of Omega. Her mother was killed in the takeover and she joined a small resistance group. Somehow she managed to make it out alive and since the liberation of Omega has been freelancing as an independent mechanic.
