This keeps coming up in the IRC, which is largely the fault of the Mass Effect Wiki, but here's the thing: batarians do not have hair.
May 1, 2007 - Mass Effect: Revelations is released, and features physical descriptions of the batarians, including one throwaway line regarding pointlessly-fine hair on their faces. November 20, 2007 - Mass Effect is released, containing a single image of a batarian, concept art included in their codex entry. March 11, 2008 - Bring Down the Sky is released, and the batarian codex image is changed to match their appearance in-game. No further mention is made of batarians having hair, and no hair is ever depicted either in-game or even in the terrible Dark Horse comics. It stands to reason that the statement regarding hair, which is only present in Revelations, was retconned along with every other detail of their appearance beyond having four eyes. Let March 11, 2008 be forever remembered as the day the batarians lost their hair. |

Grand Executor Menekhotep Tran'Darvas might disagree about that, where else do you want him to put the Fabergé eggs?

You know full well that Grand Executor Menekhotep Tran'Darvas's glorious Fabergé-braided neckbeard is not natural, but was in fact the result of hair plugs on his eighth chin and neck. Batarians do not have hair. EDIT: it was paid for by his exceptionally high tax refund, which would have otherwise gone to making sure that lazy lower-caste poors on Khar'shan were receiving extravagant luxuries such as color holovision and non-dessicated food. |

I stand corrected, unless of course he buys-out who-ever scientific institution decides what is natural and non-natural for batarians to have and changes that... WITH MONEY!
