This is zackalan, for those who actually use the IRC channel. The title says it all, I downloaded X-Chat when I joined the forums, and now I don't have a free program to access the chat room.

I was looking to see what you are using, did you actually pay for X-Chat? Or did you find a free program? I am a windows 7 user just to clarify.

What do you use?

Not the most adaptable or flexible option out there but it tends to be reliable enough, easy to use, and it's free.

I use mibbit or pidgin, which are both free.

there's a few good free IRC clients out there, you just need to find the one you like best. Mibbit is online and is easy to use, pidgin requires a download but has features I like, such as logging and sound alerts when someone messages you, good for when you're in a game.

Seconding Mibbit

It becomes a lot better when you make yourself an account. It allows you to login automatically and the weird quirk about images and videos not showing can be fixed by disabling so its almost as good as an actual client without the hassle of downloading.

Pidgin or Trillian. I've used both, though the former is what I've been using for awhile - I like it a bit more.

May you never forget what is worth remembering, nor ever remember what is best forgotten.
