Site downtime!

This is just a quick head's up that the site will be going down tomorrow at around noon Dippy Standard Time.

For the sticklers, that's 6am EST, or 11am GMT, 9 Jan 2014.

We are updating the Valiant code, which will allow us to add more features down the line. The downtime is expected to be a half-hour long. If there are any problems, we'll keep you informed via the CDN Twitter account.

So the updates were laying the foundations for more features and such?

Yes, this particular update was made to allow easy skinning of the site. Also some legacy code was removed, the net effect is that the code-base has shrunk.

The next update (date not yet set) is going to update some of the internal subsystems. This update will be a soft-launch where pages get updated as they are ready instead of a 'let's shut down the site for 10 minutes' that this one was.
