Hey everyone - thought you (well, some of you) would be interested to know what I've been up to lately, in between software development and fancy meetings and clients and all that. So, a quick copy-paste from the just-updated EP catalogue:
ExtranetPlayground Catalogue :: New Releases
...Blue Suns’ and Eclipse’s finest go head to head in Omega’s Gozu District. In a world where loyalty is everything, only one can survive, but there’s just one problem: they can’t keep their hands off each other! Farius Frinnj, Seysa Jannus, and special guest Reva’Jen vas Elin star in the outrageously heartwarming merc-musical comedy Gozu District Story.
Impulse and Imperturbability The splendor of Eleventh Age Dekuuna comes to life in this meticulously-crafted masterpiece of emotion and high drama. In a world where patience and conservatism rule, nothing is left to chance in the Great Court - nothing but the arrival of the mysterious asari Lady T’Tillia, whose passions may prove more than the honourable Lord Greatrod and Count Thrustwell can take! Will the stability of high society be torn apart as her suitors vie for her affection? Mountor, Daia T’Nara, and Dalton star in this classic romance, ideal for couples. Pildavi Fever! Ashlyn Adams has a dream: to compete with the elite of pildavi. In a world where asari dominate the game, will she be just what the struggling Nos Astra Nymphs need to turn around their fortunes and unite the team? Featuring the historic first filmed scene of human/asari- Available now from all Illium Entertainment and affiliated media vendors (which covers just about the whole galaxy). In case anyone's imagining a 'cheap porn' production, let me set you straight, the sets (virtual and physical) and costumes in I&I were impeccable. I love a good Regency Methodical Drama, so this was just a dream come true to work on. Incidentally, Pildavi Fever's another one to watch out for, a certain someone (not me) had a consulting role behind the scenes there. :) |

Sorry, cant get over "Lord Greatrod" and "Count Thrustwell" Couldn't have named a porno character better if I tried, wait, maybe... Longrod fon Hugendong?

...well I have to hand it to the industry for never lacking in ideas, at least. I actually thought Gozu district story was a recycled romcom, but realization crept up on me with the names of your costars characters.
Honestly, the variety surprises me, with star crossed lovers, period pieces, and one that reflects some of the growing human interest in piildavi, I have to compliment extranet playground for keeping themselves so fresh. I wish mainstream entertainment could do quite so well. |

...wait so the Blue Suns and Eclipse are ok with their names being used in films like that? I mean, couldn't EP avoid the legal stuff by using a similar sounding names, like "The Blue Buns" or "The Lips"...actually no those sound terrible. Still though, who would of thought the big three would get musicals about them?
Also, Ashlyn Adams is hot. like, smoking. The premise looks pretty interesting too. |

Casual amusement: Ah yes, the storied career of the honourable Greatrod. Truly a towering figure of our political history.
Wryly: I hope Mountor does him justice. Slight reluctance: Usually I'm less than enamoured with such works, but if the recreation of the general style of the period is convincing enough, it could have some value. Interrogative: I know you are no xenohistorian, Ms. T'Nara, but your instincts are good. Do you believe care was taken to produce a convincing recreation? In terms of the broader period values and aesthetics, if not, of course, in terms of actual events? |

I don't think the suns got actually asked but coming from IE it's safe would say Eclipse at least did not veto. Press is press is press and once in a while you can gain a few points with the public by not acting like in blood rage over something like a musical.Pildavi Fever!
Oh finally! they have been shooting this some time ago but it seems the release date was coordinated with the APU season. In fact, I can absolutely vouch for the details and authenticity of the pildavi scenes. There's awesome camera work involved the APU envies the producers for! I want to point out though the the locker room scenes are slightly exaggerated for narrative purposes. |

That gives me an idea, do you mind if I put it in my notebook?Alliance_Mom wrote:I have to compliment extranet playground for keeping themselves so fresh.
Illium Entertainment did a very smart thing, I feel, in keeping EP's operations pretty much entirely independent after the end of the war - the way I hear it, IE's people are happy to let EP have access to their facilities (which puts them way ahead of the competition in erotica), and really don't interfere in what they do with it, so long as the return stays good. In a lot of ways they (EP) are still a small company, working in a communal fashion without the tiers and tiers of entrenched executives you find in the larger media conglomerates - if someone brings them an idea, they're willing to have some faith and see where it goes.I&I is a perfect example: Mountor's a huge Eleventh Age afficianado, and he pitched the idea during work on CX3. The studio assigned a trainee producer to him to develop it, between them over the next few weeks they came up with a proposal that impressed the staff, and now here we are. Nick The Pirate wrote:Also, Ashlyn Adams is hot. like, smoking.
She's pretty special, yeah - Vanessa Vansen, worked with her in a few scenes during Citadel (she was Jill, although it's not surprising not everyone's recognising her now she's got hair, and no tattoos, and isn't glowing all the time), and before that on Above and Beyond. Adams is her first starring role, I'm really excited to see the finished product.SlowAndSteady wrote:Interrogative: I know you are no xenohistorian, Ms. T'Nara, but your instincts are good. I admit I'm more a casual fan than the sort who knows every detail, but Mountor is the know-every-detail kind, and he worked really hard on making the recreation as good as it could be - IE lent a couple of virtual set design artists to the project, with a view to reusing the constructs later on in non-erotic works. It's not just sets and costumes and so on either, everyone was meticulous about performances being period-accurate, Mountor worked with me and Dalton between takes a lot to get everything just so, and with the First Aide to make sure all the extras and bit part performers had a thorough briefing on everything they needed to know. Obviously some aspects (as you say) have been bent a bit to fit in the quantity of erotic content the studio was looking for (not that any of us objected to that, either), but you sound like you know what you're talking about - it's more overt in the film naturally, but the intensity was historically there, just expressed in more subtle ways. So yeah, I feel the viewers interested in the setting won't be disappointed, I certainly hope so.Celeste wrote:My tears of helpless frustration at the state of the entertainment industry right now could water a sizeable garden.

Probably something like that - not that the Suns would be in any position to object on Illium anyway, if they were inclined to. I hear IE still has a rapport with Eclipse's PR people, from that co-production they did during the war, I'd guess they gave them a heads-up that Gozu was in the works, and nobody thought it worth raising a fuss over. So long as Eclipse doesn't come off badly (and really, it's just a musical comedy), there's no harm done.Speaking of what Nicola was saying though, I don't know if this is true but I did hear that the script was originally submitted with fictional gangs as the backdrop, rather than the two big companies. I don't know specifically why they'd have changed that, but I guess it doesn't hurt to have recognised names in your story. Taleeze wrote:There's awesome camera work involved the APU envies the producers for!
We're all invited to the premiere, right? (Have they told you where it'll be yet? I heard someone saying Helix Arena, that'd be fitting.) I wish I'd been there to see the filming, the trailer looks amazing - they did have a part I could've gone for (Lansa), but it would've meant dropping out of I&I, and I just couldn't pass up the chance to be in that, and work with Mountor and Dalton together.Taleeze wrote:I want to point out though the the locker room scenes are slightly exaggerated for narrative purposes.
Stasis unit logic, perhaps? Maybe that's why the Nos Astra Nymphs are a struggling team, they keep using up all their energy in the locker room. :) |

Nothing specific lined up, but I'm sure there are more projects already in pre-production - I was approached early in I&I's cycle to make sure I'd be available for filming (because of the scenes I did with Mountor in CX2 and 3), but in the normal course of things someone like me won't find out about films in the works until they reach casting stage, right before primary filming. I'd quite like to do something with krogan co-stars (ideally with Emmaga Juhana, we were chatting about it during down time on CX3), but really it's just a matter of waiting and seeing what I'm offered. If you mean in more general terms though, I've got a couple of bits of business coming up to do with modelling - nothing set in stone yet - and we're building on our relationships with Sunlight Sunna on Rannoch with the aim of co-developing a new environment control VI, fresh code from the ground up to take advantage of geth-derived architecture at every level. That's a big project (especially for a company our size) but there's an opening for it in the Illium market, and I feel it's an opportunity we can commit to and excel at without risking being undercut by our larger competitors. (To put it bluntly, the big enviro firms on Illium just don't see quarian-specific products as a desirable market locally.) |

An interesting listing of vids. I haven't seen a decent musical in ages, maybe I'll give that a try. I remember that Blue suns PR account that was around a while ago, what a debacle. I wonder what that guy would say to this. Let's see how well this fares in outside Illium and C-Space.

Nothing like that! If you have much biotics to spare after a match you didn't perform on the field. Soaking in a bath and getting a massage is the unpretentious reality. But they only had me as consultant for the on-field action, the rest they could come up all by themselves. |

Don't be so concerned about other peopel's sex drive. Be happy that the galaxy has any left. It's a bit hard not be concerned about other people's sex drives when they've waving it when everyone can see it. Look, I'm no prude-I've got 15 years in the marines and do you wanna know what it's like to be stuck on a ship full of horny twenty-somethings that haven't had sex in months and aren't allowed to touch any available people of their particular orientation? I just don't want to have to read about it. You guys wanna watch porn or make porn or get nosebleeds just thinking about professional athletes getting it on, go ahead. Doesn't mean everyone's going to want to tolerate the fapping. And please, tag your porn. My wife came in and saw me on this page and asked if I was leaving her for a male elcor.
