Ah, what's the chance of that ever happening? I suppose I'm just being foolish.

But that's enough about me. Why didn't you say anything about Vee till now?

Hi, Helena.

How are things? Things are doing well here.
I know we may not know each other very much, but I just wanted to let you know I'm worried about you guys. Part of me is killing myself knowing I should have been there, my experience could have helped you guys a great deal. I'm sorry- I- Fuck, I thought it was just an aid run, you know, first aid kits and food packages, not goddamn pirates.

Greetings, Mr. Alexsanders, and may I pass on the Eclipse Sisterhood's warmest-

...nah, fuck it, we've done business before. How's things?

I know you probably don't give a shit about me and mine, but hey, business is business, right? (And for what it's worth, I take all that shit I said 'bout the Grendel back. It's still shite against shields, but one of our techs came up with a custom patch for the VI that seemed to sort it out. I'll forward it to you once I've got it in a decent format (you know frogs and coding, I'm sure)).

To cut a long story short, the higher-ups have released some additional funding to our QMs, all for re-outfitting our infantry. The standard kit we've got is good, don't get me wrong, but it's a bit, um, antiquated, if that makes sense. I mean, the M-9's been on the market for fucking ages, if you'll pardon my Oregan.

The problem with being trapped on Illium for most of the war is that I'm out of the loop, techwise. I've been hearing crazy shit 'bout Cerbiehead designed guns, Rannochtech and even rumours the STG started leaking some of their toys. My old Shuriken just doesn't cut it, you know?

But I've used your stuff before. Not the bog-standard Hydra Armaments stuff, but that Grendel. Good tech. ANd I'm hearing rumours your corp took the fight to Cerberus, maybe even recovered some tech.

So let's talk. I've got a shitload of creds to spend on whoever can sell me high-tech small arms - we're talking frog-standard high-tech here, mind - or artillery (or upgrades to the old Eion-class fighter) and I'm inclined to see your catalogue.

What've you got?

Private Message to User: VigilantVanguardMs. Thompson,

I believe you would be pleased to hear that we have verified the authenticity of the violin you donated to the Museum of Galactic History. I am told that restoration to its original beauty is entirely within the realm of possibility, and that the clarity of the sound is about as close to perfection as one could expect from the instrument, especially when one considers its age.

The museum will be reopening on the asari New Year, and the violin you have donated will be on display in the Human Symphony exhibit. The official letter should be sent to you rather soon, but, it might be prudent for me to inform you now that donations of this caliber often put the donor on a VIP list of sorts. Do expect quite a lot of mail from the museum foundation for some time - including invitations to the reopening gala.

Sincerely,

Dear Dr. Callaghan-Harper,

I am thrilled about this news. I have other items that may be valuable to the museum, and - To be completely honest, this made my day. I've never been to a museum re-opening gala, how should I dress? Will my name be on a plaque on the display? Tell me more about the newsletter! I'm so excited, I'm going to call my wife in just a moment to let her know the news.

Sarah,

First of all, that's incredibly kind of you. I'd like to send a return package, but you can imagine how thin on the ground supplies are at the moment. I'll see if I can scrape together something as a return gift for Christmas.

Now, as for the address, you'd best not send it straight to the barracks, it'll probably get intercepted by the quartermasters and you know what they're like. Try sending it on straight to the Harrow Alliance Borough HQ, I can pick it up from there directly.

And thank you again. I'll see if I can work on a return something soon. How are you, anyway? Have to admit, the Reaper War kind of did a fantastic job of severing contact with anyone actually decent on this board too.

Lt. Harris,

I am fine as can be. I'm happy, the love of my life is happy, and things couldn't be better. She's got her own business, she's got like, seven people working for her and she's making a career out of doing something she enjoys. I'm beaming with pride. As for me, I'm trying to get a job with the Alliance and setting things right a little more each day. I donated an extremely valuable violin to a museum for zero cost, I'm trying to find other ways to help the galactic community. God knows I've done my share to make it worse.
There are things I can't change or undo but I have to live with that.

I'm running out and about to get packages for other people I know and getting them out by tonight in the mail in time for Thanksgiving- This is out to my friends in the Systems Alliance, some of the few friends I have, so Natalie King, Icarus and you.

For you? Expect-

- One box of cigars
- Turkey leg- None of that MRE shit
- Bottle of $10 wine
Should get it by Thursday.

Sarah

"Reply to Mrs. Burke"Sarah,

Good to hear she's doing well. Everyone starts small, after all, and it sounds like she's got a leg up on most survivors I've bumped into recently. And great to hear she loves what she does - guess it must have advantages for you too, your wife being a caterer. At least you've got easy access to actual food.

And about helping out - I appreciate you're doing what must have seemed pretty strange, going back to us after what happened. But you're absolutely doing the right thing. I hate to admit it, but we really need the help now more than ever. And credit to you for giving that violin away; I know a lot of people who would have flogged it on the markets somewhere. Well done for having the spirit when it counted.

Things are much slower at this end; you might not have heard, but I managed to get both legs shot up with Hammer. So, until they properly clear me for duty, I'm stuck off of active rotation. It's not so bad; it at least means I know I'll be on Earth for the near future, but it's been a long while now since they were put in, and they're still acting up every now and again. Turns out you shouldn't ask the Reapers for help with impromptu thigh incisions. Who knew?

And thank you again for the gifts. I'll save a toast for you and yours once the bottle gets here. And please, just call me Aleks. I'd like to think I'm a friend, and definitely not your superior.

Aleks

I'd have time to check the Talbot out this weekend, I wanted to go down south, Black Pebbles Beach or Telfonis Cove...
I have heard the skyway has great scenery and we didn't have a chance to do it yet, so...

But, you know, it's not so much fun going alone and you can't come along, obviously since it's my time with the car and you have that appointment with that manager guy and all - so I thought, like, maybe you would have by any chance a PM address of that nifty assistant of yours, Vale?

Maybe, she's got, like, time or so. You know, I'd love to trade some old pildavi stories and stuff.
Anyway, let me know, 'kay?

see you later, you busy bee

Encrypted Message to User: Corona From the Desk of Nikolai Aleksanders

Major D'Veyra,

Firstly, the Titan Corporation and our affiliates are always pleased to do business with an organization as illustrious as the Eclipse Sisterhood.

Secondly, it's damn good to see you again (hey at least one of us had to be all nice and formal, if only for the opening line). Glad to hear that the Grendel worked out well; any and all feedback is valued and appreciated. Now, about your requests; there's somewhat of an odd twofold issue at work here; during the war the market was completely flooded with weapons of all breeds, for somewhat obvious reasons. Now this glut has yet to be resolved and, as a result, a number of our planned product lines are being withheld until general demand reaches sufficient levels to justify mass production. Officially we have nothing new available.

Officially.

Unofficially Hydra Skunkworks has a number of field tested and refined designs that are available for purchase to certain interested parties such as yourself.

Heavy Weapons/M-32 Gargoyle:
Shouldermounted, the Gargoyle is as much a reconnaissance tool as it is an actual weapon. Each shell contains up to five Tactical Scanning Modules. The launcher has an effective range of up to 750 meters. Targeted landing sites for the drones can be programmed in, the devices themselves have limited mobility (no eezo cores and no propulsion, just mechanical locomotion) and can traverse minor obstacles, vertical surfaces, and the like. Once deployed the drones will begin transmitting data (building layout, environmental data, vidfeed, enemy positions, movements). Drones can be recovered for later use or armed prior to launch and detonated either on a timer, remotely, at a specific location, or when discovered. Blast is a micro thermobaric pulse, individual kill radius of 20 meters.

Rifle/M-116 Coatl
: There are two basic settings to the Coatl, long range and mid range. The interface is intuitive enough, a simple flip and lock holoicon. Long range the Coatl is, for all intents and purposes, a sniper rifle. Extended barrel. Redundant heat management systems engage and unfold from the body. Bipod. Four round clip, single shot (and trust me, they pack a fucking punch, not on the scale of a Widow or a Wraith but its a damn sight cheaper than the first and more flexible than the second). Mid range, the MA track collapses, the architecture folds in, leaving you with a scoped, compact, assault rifle. You'll get fifty shots per sink, full auto or a tight three round burst. Well balanced against shields and armor. Main drawbacks, as I'm sure you've guessed, are cost and training. It's somewhat pricey upfront and maintenance can be a hassle (you are basically caring for two guns), tack on additional training and this is largely a specialist weapon. Of course that being said a few squads of marksmen or commandos armed with these are going to do some pretty fucking severe damage.

Shotgun/M-56 Holda
: I think you may appreciate this one. The Holda is designed for urban combat and crowd control: four separately orientated tracks managed by an onboard VI targeting system which allows for widened or more focused spread depending on the concentration and locations of combatants. Projectiles are flechette based so on door to doors really its simply a matter of sticking the barrel through said door and repainting the walls of the hypothetical room. It's rather heavy (still not as bad as a Saber) and you'll need a fresh sink for each shot, although a standard revolving heatsink module will help minimize reload times.

Submachine Gun/M-75 Salamander:
Ammo is liquid based and consists of needlethin jets of magnetically suspended ferrofluid that are accelerated down the track at lethal speeds. Fully automatic, the Salamander is more of a precision weapon than anything. Tight spread. Comparatively weak against shields, armor piercing capabilities are superb. The sheer heat of the round does catastrophic damage to the internal organs and biology of targets. Entry and the odd exit wounds tend to be cauterized shut but, I assure you, it makes little difference (because really, it's somewhat difficult for most people to survive once their vital organs have been turned into so much charred meat).

Pistol/M-18 Morrigan:
The Morrigan could really be considered more of an armor mod than a weapon in its own right. The module attaches to the forearm of your dominant hand, much like a bracelet really. Command from the wearer and it unfolds to envelop the bearer's hand. It's a holdout or a back up and intended for close range, you can get out four shots before needing to swap out thermal clips. Rounds are heavy gauge and will generally stun a target even through shields.

Stymphalian Aerospace should be able to assist if you are on the market for fighter upgrades. Eion fighter? We carry ME-core retrofits, advanced targeting systems, armor plating and shield networks that would be compatible; weaponry-wise we have Clarion and Burning Brass missile systems as well as some Host canons that could be integrated. On the artillery angle we have the second generation Medusas as well as fourth gen Choir mechs (and, of course, more Grendels if you are so inclined).

Best of luck in your endeavors Major, not, that I suspect, you'll need it.

Sincerely,

Nikolai Aleksanders, CEO and Chairman

PM to TaleezeHi Taleeze,

She's all yours. :) The 'car, I mean - but I'm pretty sure you could talk Vale into coming along for a day or two out of the city. Unlike all of us she's too sane to hang around on CDN, so [here's] her mail ident through the work system here. I don't want to make you feel like you need to put on your celebrity act for her, but she was impressed to meet a real Wildkat; I'm sure you two will have plenty of sports talk to fill the time. I'll let her know you'll call, and that we can spare her for the time being - we don't generally drag her in on weekends anyway, but she's one of those who like to be ready to pitch in any time, just in case.

One thing with the Talbot to keep in mind, she doesn't have the legs of an all-up aircar - there was only so much space in the old engine compartment, and when we were figuring out what we could cram in, it came down to a choice between a smaller cell tank for the power plant, or leaving out the hardware to keep the old wheels functioning, and I thought driving around on the ground would be kind of cool (it is). You won't have any trouble, especially not on the skyway out that direction - plenty of recharge stations - just keep an eye on the nav VI if you want to venture off the main routes much.

Speaking of off the main routes though, if you do wind up around Black Pebbles Beach with time to spare, head about a metra east of the main visitor facility, around the headland there - it's a nice beach walk, and if you explore a little you'll find this lovely honeycomb cave system along the shore, all shafts of sunlight from above and tiny waterfalls and streams. I discovered it with a friend of mine about twenty years ago, and so far as I know it's still eluding the tourist guidebooks - I've been back now and then, and bumped into a handful of fellow wanderers there at times, but I suppose they've been keeping the secret too. :)

Have fun! <3

- Daia

PM to Sundowner77Sica,

There's no need to apologise. I know I'm the blithe optimist in the room, but I also know sometimes it's not what you want, it's the best you can manage with what fate dishes out. If you believed, and still do, that it's safer for me this way... well, it's your choice, and you're no fool - I'm not going to disagree with your judgement, and make you worry about me on top of whatever else is going on, just because I miss you. If you ever reassess, my door's always open, but it's your call to make. You've got my friendship, and my best wishes, either way.

Love,

Daia
