Too many threads (feedback please)

I need some feedback from you folks.

I (unsurprisingly) love to RP and I have lots of people asking to RP with my characters. I also have lots of story ideas for my characters. The problem is that due to my RL commitments, my health, other things, some days I can RP all day and other days I'm lucky if I get one post in. Lately I've tried to say yes to as many people as I can, particularly on those slow days at the hotel when I have nothing else to do, only to feel bombarded with PMs and messages when, in the course of the next week, I don't have a lot of free time. Sorry, I've got nine active threads, and if I only have time in a day for one or two posts, I have to pick one or two to keep up with and pause the others.

Am I correct in assuming that most people would prefer to wait three or four weeks for their "turn" rather than having a slower moving thread?

Right now I feel that I'm irritating the people I'm RPing with, and RP is becoming more stressful than fun as I struggle to get posts in.

And to solve the problem, I'm considering limiting myself to a maximum of four active threads, and not starting any new ones until an old one has concluded.

Is that what you guys want? Please let me know. This is supposed to be fun.

You know what I think. Stop making such great characters, people might be less interested in them ;)

This is the point where you should cut back, yes.

Set a limit for yourself and have people get in line if they want to do stuff with you. Pretend aliens are not something to stress yourself out over, particularly not when you have real-life things to deal with, so don't feel like you're reneging on obligations to internet strangers.

I appreciate everyone who's answered so far and don't worry, I'm not going anywhere... Work has been a nightmare this week, I'm sick on top of it, and I needed a sanity check.

Sica, you don't own me or anyone else on the interwebs anything, this is supposed to be a fun diversion not a chore. Take all the time you need and if you want to cut on the number of running threads then that's alright too.

You're a good RPer, a fun read and I would personally prefer it far more that you cut back on your activity now but stay active on this site than you getting burned out we completely and losing you, but that's just my personal preference and its up to you to choose what you feel is best for you.

Sica, I'm honestly alright with waiting for a turn. RP is supposed to be fun and something you look forward to, not feel like a chore or obligation. Plus, RL stuff always comes first, especially your health.

Cutting back is really not a problem and like Dippy said, I'd rather you stay then overwork yourself and get burned out.

Thanks guys. Bad week at work. I guess I just wanted everyone here to know that I sometimes need to take it a little easier, so if it's a bit of a wait for a post, it's not because I don't like to play with you or whatever, it's that I'm resisting the urge to abuse rocket launchers. And while I will be taking it a little easier with the number of threads in the future, I'm not going anywhere. I need a few escape hatches from my real life.
